The MBST (Multi-Behavior Student tracking) app is a flexible, powerful and easy-to-use tool for tracking student behavior, both within single sessions and across multiple sessions, using a customizable set of on-task/off-task behaviors.
MULTIPLE MODES
Track behaviors in three modes modes: interval sampling, event recording, and momentary-time sampling.
Interval sampling allows you to record all behaviors during a pre-defined interval of your choosing. For comparison purposes, peer measurements can be included, either randomly, or at pre-defined intervals.
In Event-recording mode, behaviors are recorded as they happen (i.e., no time cues), which works well for infrequent behaviors that need simple documentation as they occur.
Momentary-time sampling is similar to interval sampling, except that a single behavior is recorded at each time prompt. An optional mode (available via in-app purchase) allows event recording during momentary time sampling.
FLEXIBLE BEHAVIOR LISTS
The MBST app comes preloaded with standard behaviors, but these can be easily changed to allow you to customize the behavior list to your particular classroom’s needs. Multiple behavior lists can also be created: one for the classroom, one for the playground, etc.
DATA ANALYSIS & REPORTS
Summary reports can be quickly generated that present averages for the current and past sessions, as well as graphs and charts that offer a graphical representation of trends over time. Results can then be emailed for easy incorporation into written reports. Or use the auto-generated report feature that puts your data and graphs into a pre-existing report template.
